Informing Today's Youth & Tomorrow's Leaders
No Cap News is excited to be presenting at the MUN Impact Global Summit 2.0 on October 25th, 2020!
What’s the summit? A free online three-day event with multiple workshops by students, thought leaders, UN officials, and a special strand devoted to planning for impact and taking action.
Led by MUN Impact–an international NGO–the event will focus on driving action and ‘impact’ into communities across the globe, representing one of the largest global demonstrations of youth leadership and activism for the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
What's Our Presentation About?
In our workshop, participants will learn about the creation of No Cap News: a multimedia student-run global news organization created to provide today’s youth with factual, nonpartisan news coverage. It has accumulated over 115,000 readers from over 15 countries since March 2020.
Attendees will learn about the importance of media nonpartisanship in reliably informing youth about major global events and trends (advancing SDG Target 4.7 in particular). They will also learn how to eliminate bias from their own news consumption, avoiding the trap of online echo chambers. Additionally, there will be a heavy focus on managing multinational youth organizations on a fully virtual basis, particularly amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Those in attendance will also learn about how to get involved with No Cap News to locally advance SDG Target 4.7.
